Morris Wilkes is the Founder and Principal of The Wilkes Company, a strategic communications and public affairs consulting firm.

Morris is a highly sought-after consultant, mentor and speaker who helps individuals and teams develop the ability to communicate, connect and collaborate at a world class level so they can grow their influence and business result.

He offers advanced strategies (how you succeed) to achieve higher levels of performance. His passion is for people to discover, maximize and lead with their strengths.

Morris knows first-hand how effective communication and leadership are keys to business effectiveness and growth.  His skills were honed through over four decades as a journalist, writer, broadcaster and government relations-public policy advocate.

Morris is a certified public speaker, trainer and executive coach on leadership and communication with expertise and experience covering a variety of topics. Audiences leave his talks and training sessions entertained, informed and inspired.

Morris is a member of the Rotary Club of Lubbock where he has served in a variety of leadership positions including President. He currently serves on the Texas Tech University College of Media and Communication National Professional Advisory Board and is the current Chairman of the Texas Tech Alumni Association National Board of Directors.

He served President George W. Bush and the White House as a lead advance representative from 2001-2009.  During 1999, 2000 and 2004, Morris traveled the United States on the George W. Bush for President Campaign.


Morris was named an Outstanding Alumnus of the Texas Tech University College of Media and Communication, where he graduated in 1975 with a degree in Journalism. He also has been recognized as a Distinguished Alumnus of Leadership Lubbock.  In 2005, Cox Communications named him the Public Affairs Professional of the Year.  He is a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International.

Morris has previously served in leadership positions on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Lubbock; and the Board of Directors of the United Way of Texas.  He also served on the Executive Committee of the Texas Good Roads and Transportation Association;  as Vice Chairman of the Lubbock Centennial Committee; the board of Directors of the Lubbock Area Foundation;  and as a member of the City Of Lubbock Transit Advisory Board.
